Can childbirth cause long-term back pain? 👶

Today I would like to talk to you about a very special program that I have designed specifically for mothers who have had a c-section. In my 10 years of practice, I have heard so many of my patients tell me that their lower back has never been the same after childbirth, especially c-section deliveries.

Most mothers say that they never even experienced back pain before pregnancy and that years later, their lower backs still feel weak and painful. What they don’t know is that they suffer from long-term postpartum back pain.

Back pain during pregnancy as well as up to 3 months after delivery is absolutely normal, however, if back pain persists for longer than 4 months, it becomes chronic and can last years.

Long-term postpartum back pain is extremely common

Most mothers don’t realize the impact that pregnancy has on their bodies. During pregnancy, a hormone called Relaxin is released, and this hormone is specifically designed to relax all ligaments in the pelvis so as to allow for the growing fetus but also for the expansion of the birth canal during pregnancy. The release of this hormone also causes ligaments in the spinal joints to become loose causing the spinal joints to shift and misalign. After birth, once the Relaxin hormone is out of the bloodstream the ligaments begin to tighten again but if there are misaligned spinal and pelvic joints these remain in the incorrect position and over time can cause back pain.

The Pain-free mommies program is specifically designed for all mothers who have had one or more c-sections and have not recovered from back pain since then. The c-sections could’ve been done years ago or a few months ago, the program works well for both.

I personally have had two c-sections in the past 6 years and I know the impact it has had on my back, I studied this program specifically because I was experiencing back pain, especially after my second c-section.

Chiropractic manipulation alone is not able to sustain the misaligned segments, you need to specifically work certain core muscles and release the scar tissue that has built up over the c-section cut in order to keep the joints fully aligned.

For more information about this specific program please feel free to contact my office me and I will send you all the necessary information. Remember, this is specifically for mothers that have had c-sections and not natural delivery.

Always remember, being in pain is not a natural state for your body, it’s a sign that something is not functioning properly.

Hope you always have a pain-free day!
